Well finals are finally coming to a close. This really has been quite the semester. Let's start from the beginning.

For those of you that don't know, I was accepted into the Eller College of Management. I am especially proud of this accomplishment as I was originally told that there was a 95% chance that they would deny my application.

This semester in Eller has had it's ups and down. It was a little harder than I thought it was going to be. Quite frankly I think it was a little harder than it needed to be. I think they overly challenge you so you feel like you're in some elite club of people, I'm not quite so sure. I had a kid in my Marketing class walk in late only to be challenged by the Professor regarding his tardiness. His response? "I got lost on the way from the Union". Yeah. Not exactly geniuses. There was also much more teamwork than I bargained for. Not that I'm against teams. you can get a lot done, a lot faster when you're working with others. I'm just normally not a fan. This semester's teamwork went remarkably well though. So well in fact, that we ended up placing second place in the case competition. Another proud accomplishment. I also found a new friend! Her name is Polly Pocket. Well I guess her legal name is just Polly, but screw legalities. She also happens to be in my accounting class so we've spent WAY too much time together studying for tests and working together on projects. She's silly and kind and smart. We work beautifully together. I really hope she gets that A she's been working so hard for. There's a ton of other events and comments from this semester but I'll save your poor little eyes from having to read through that much rambling.

So as the semester winds down I have 3 exams to go. One in 4 hours, another in 2 days, and the last on Friday. I'm a little bit nervous about each but I'm trying to remember that I need to relax and take them as they come. I was actually smart enough to plan ahead and study a little bit as I go as opposed to just trying to slam it all into my brain the day before...well for accounting anyway. For management today I won't have studied expect for the full hour before the exam, oops. For marketing, I'll be studying the night before so there's a slight improvement. I guess.

Oh and Miss Kahle. We made it through the semester without her having to go to the emergency room  because of our dreaded adversary, gltuen. So that's a major step forward from Fall 2011. She's trucking along through school and work like the rest of us, so yay. We celebrated April 20th too. No, not like that. It was her Celiac Birthday. Basically the one year anniversary of her being diagnosed with an awful disease that prevents her from consuming anything that contains, or has touched, gluten. It's been a rough year but we've worked hard the last few months at getting her eating back on track so she can still enjoy the things she loves without dying. We got all dolled up and went to P.F. Changs, followed by the movies. It was a blast and I can't wait to see where we can go eat next year. Without further ado, one of the first pictures of us together, even though we spend tons of time together...we should probably work on that.

I think that's enough for now. Just know that I am super excited for this summer and the ability to relax for a bit.

Wow I really fell behind...

So it's only been almost two full years since I'm been on here. I promise to be more diligent this time around. Especially since I have so many new friends who blog. Hopefully I will be inspired.

So prepare, world. Prepare for the awesomeness that will follow. Well should anyway.

Excited for what lies ahead,

Clash of the Easter Smith

Friday night was Clash of the Titans with Carl, Mikey, Joey, Mark, Mary S., Hilary and Mike. Carl and I ended up having to hold seats for 8 which went surprisingly well, until we only had 2 seats left. Hilary and Mike ended up having to go home because Mike forgot a very important item at the house and Hilary has mini panic attack if she doesn't have this item when she needs it. At this point a very angry mother, with her wheelchair-bound son, approaches me to let me know I'm in handicapped seating and we need to move. Keep in mind that we were in a row that was 12 seats long and with no handicapped insignia in sight. She becomes very threatening and announces that she will be going to ask an employee to help seat her. End of the story she was angry and we kept our seats. **Disclaimer** There was a handicapped section that she would have been more than able to sit in she just claimed to be trying to save seats for "a family" the number of which she had no clue.  The move itself was decent. The graphics were better than the original obviously. But somehow I felt that Perseus riding the awkwardly running/flying claymation Pegasus through the air was a tad more heroic. Overall though, it was a good movie. I suggest it. Especially if you haven't seen the original and therefore have no reference for what it used to look like. The after-movie events were undeniably amazing. We all went out for shakes and such at In and Out and then back to Hilary's. Mary, Hilary, Carl and I played scattegories for 4 hours, with Mark and Mike joining in towards the end. I didn't end up getting home until 5:30 the next morning but it was definitely worth it.

This year I was unable to go home for Easter as I had work on Saturday and I loathe turnaround trips. From what I'm told I missed my sisters' matching Easter dresses, amazing prime rib and my uncle/father screaming "TV!!!". I was bummed I wasn't able to go home so I decided to make my own Easter. I ran down to the store and picked up eggs and cheesecake ingredients and then spent the next 6 hours making deviled eggs and easter eggs. Why six hours you ask? Because hard boiled eggs have to cool completely before you can peel them.. a fact that seemed better in theory than in action. It took forever.

These are my glorious eggs both deviled and eastered. I ended up dying them with food coloring mixed with vinegar and water instead of the normal egg dye. They turned out rather nifty with the exception of the purple(which looks black above) and the dusty rose(which looks brown above). I also made cheesecake which I have yet to eat but I'm assuming it will be delicious mostly since I will be bathing it in Maraschino cherries.

This Saturday at 7:30pm I will have the honor of sitting in front of this immortal genius:

Words cannot describe how excited I am about this. If you haven't seen any of his movies I suggest you do. Mallrats is my personal favorite but you may also enjoy Clerks. I expect next week's blog to be full of amazing stories from this wonderful tub of lard.

Well I suppose I should get back to baking. The roomie and I are making brownie cookie bars and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies...ok ok she's making the cookies but I helped mix everything together.

Movie time

Soooo Sherlock Holmes is released on DVD today. I'm more than ecstatic about this. I hope to also purchase He's Just Not That Into You as well this evening as I've had a hankering for a cute/funny love story. I've been buying a lot of movies lately, which is probably a bad habit. I think it's because I have yet to call Dish Network to have them come fix my box so that way I can watch cable. Although I've come to hate normal TV, commercials inspire a horrible hatred inside me; I fear I've become addicted to my DVR. I also feel you should be aware that Avatar comes out April 22, 2010. Whether or not you like it, I feel this fact should be known.

On a completely random note.... as much as I LOVE my new furniture that my father drove 200 miles round trip to bring to me, I'm thinking that it might be too big for my tiny apartment.

As you can tell, my bed takes up 90% of my room. Which I guess I'm ok with given that it's a comfy queen sized pillow top. What really irks me is that stupid nook you see on the right. Yes it gives me the room to put my entertainment center but it leaves about 2 inches between the bed and the wall. Not that anyone gets into bed over there, as my side is on the left. Yes, in a queen size bed I have a side.... it's a weird habit. Please also admire my new comforter set which at this point isn't that new but you haven't seen it so it's new to you. What is that bear shaped item on the bed??? That would be Pam Bear. Yes I am a 20 year old independent woman who still owns, and cuddles with, her childhood comfort toy. I've had this thing since it was bigger than I was. It was made by a friend of my mother's when I was way young and I've had it with me ever since. On a sad note regarding my favorite bear, her last eye fell off a couple days ago. So I have to journey to Michael's to purchase new eyes to sew on. I think this is her 4th or 5th repair since I've had her... which isn't bad given that she's around 18 years old.

I have a significantly large preference for attending the showing of the Black Eyed Peas concert at the El Con Movie Theatre as I cannot attend the actual concert in Phoenix(I'd have to skip class and work). Tickets are only $15 but I fear I'll be the awkward girl who says "I kinda went to the concert only I was 100 miles away in a movie theatre". Also, I have no one to go with me.

The Pool Party at work this weekend went over pretty well. I think we had about 3-400 people show up total. All went well until we shut down the party at 5pm and 400 drunk people flooded into property. Fights ensued and the Police were called. Keep in mind that when I say police I don't mean 2 cops covered in donut dust coming in to check things out. I mean 11 cops in full riot gear with paintball and riot guns hauling their butts into property, I felt this was a bit intense but whatev. The horrible part? Some girl decided that she needed to mix large amounts of alcohol and pills which led to her becoming unconscious, losing all of her bodily functions and turning purple. She was ambulanced to St. Mary's and so far I think she's doing ok(thank God). Moral of the story? Don't do drugs, don't mix drugs with alcohol and don't be friends with people who see you unconscious and losing bodily fluids and laugh at you.

I think that's more than enough for now. Hope you enjoyed !

Oops...

Wow I just started this thing and already I'm slacking off. Let's see... what's happened since the last time I was on?
* Midterms-which I totally rocked
*Spring Break- AMAZINGLY fun. The girls and I went to As You Wish and the mall and the library. I got to go to Valle Luna with mom(yummy). I've said it to everyone I know about 400 times but Avatar in 3D was even better the second time, plus I got to watch it with my Dad. His 360 got struck by the red circle of death so now he has to send it off to Microsoft to get fixed. What is he going to do without it for 2-4 weeks??? While I was in town we definitely rocked it at my aunt's house. I was really excited to see her and play COD with my Dad and Uncle. The drive home really sucked not only was traffic bad but I really miss spending time with my family.
*Unpacking has still yet to take place. I've only been in the new place for about a month now but I just can't seem to find the time or the drive to put everything where it's supposed to be. I think Kelsey's getting ready to kill me.

I think that's about it for what I missed. I have been hanging out with Hilary considerably more than I used to (thank god) although, that seems to be having an effect that neither one of us thought would happen but you know things happen when you least expect it.  I got 2-3 inches hacked off my hair about a half an hour ago... which is about as up to date as you can get. I supposed I should get to studying for this test in about an hour.

Wish me luck!

Blog Virginity!

Yes I stole it. Sorry Mr. Blog.

I'm constantly told that no one really know what I'm up to down here in Tucson. (Mostly by my mother). So this will be my attempt at keeping all of those who care, informed about my comings and goings as my independent, adult-like self.

WARNING: There may be silly, random and weird posts on this thing, so follow accordingly.
